Few people know that Capitol View Manor was designed by the same developer of the Morningside and Virginia Highland neighborhoods, with the majority of its homes consisting brick bungalows complete with classical ornamentation around porches and doors. Homes in the community are some of the most affordable in the entire city for their quality. Prior to 2008, they ranged from $150,000 to $250,000, but you can now find homes from $100,000.
Features of Capitol View Manor include Emma Millican Park and close access to 75/85, Atlantaís main highway artery. You could be at a Braves game at Turner Field or a concert at Lakewood Amphitheater in mere minutes! The historical character of the neighborhood is also remarkably intact, with little in-fill or new construction.

The boundaries of Capital View Manor include the Connector (highways 75/85) to the east, the BeltLine corridor to the north (just south of University Avenue), Metropolitan Parkway to the west, and Casplan Street of the Atlanta Technical College to the south.
Brief history of Capitol View Manor
Similar to its Capitol View neighbor, the Capitol View Manor district is an early 20th century trolley neighborhood developed in the 1920s-30s. The curvy streets and spacious lawns showcase the garden suburb fashion with which it was developed. Earlier home styles include bungalows, Victorians, Cape Cods, and Colonials with later homes consisting of ranches. The oldest house in the district is a rare, historic i-house with a barn, reminiscent of earlier days as farmland in the 1800s, and is one of the very few remaining in Atlanta.

The Atlanta BeltLine crosses into Capitol View Manor over Metropolitan Parkway and runs north of Erin Avenue and south of University Avenue, where it ducks under the highway and into High Point Estates.

Children of Capitol View Manor attend Capitol View Elementary School on the west side of the community, Sylvan Hills Middle School (ten blocks west of the elementary school), and Washington High School.
